A. Yes, more times than not by the charity / organization chosen to be the recipient.  Your $100 cheque is written directly to the charity, NOT to ‘100 Men Who Give a Damn! – Cochrane’ (because we don’t have a bank account or a treasurer!).  Tax receipts will be issued to you directly by the charity / organization, if applicable. Please don’t contact 100 Men Cochrane for your tax receipt – contact the charity directly if you have not received your tax receipt by tax season.

Q. What if I cannot attend a meeting?

A. If a member cannot attend a quarterly meeting he should send his regrets info@100menCOCHRANE.cOM and do one of the following before the meeting:

1. Place your blank $100 cheque in an envelope marked “100 Men Cochrane” and give it to your 'buddy' or a fellow member who will be going to the meeting. Members’ names and phone numbers are listed in the Member Directory, which can be provided.

...or,
2. mail it after the meeting if requested (if this option is presented / available)

...or,
3. pay online (if this option is presented / available)

Q. Can I just send the donation to the charity myself?

A. No. Only members in good standing can nominate, attend and vote for the recipient charity. For this reason, we ask you to make use of the channels we've created to get your cheque or online donation (if available) to the recipient charity / organization. Payment options are noted above....

Note: we are not discouraging you from donating to any charities or organizations, however, if done so outside of our channels, the donation money will not count towards 100 men Cochranes collective effort.

Q. Can I just give you four post-dated $100 cheques?

A. Ideally no – because we want to see you at our meetings. But if you’re not a nearby resident, or you know you’re going to miss all the meetings, contact us and we’ll see if we can help.

Q. I live in Manitoba/Manchester/Manchuria: can I still join? How do I take part from a distance?

A. We're really sorry to learn that you don't live in Cochrane. But that should not prevent you from becoming a member. You just need to hook up with a 'buddy' who will be attending our quarterly meetings and get your cheques to him - or us - ahead of time.
